Soulik is a Category 4 Typhoon with sustained winds of 230 kph. Although most of the forecast models indicate landfall as a Category 4 Typhoon/ Super Typhoon with winds of 220-270 kph impacting the northern tip of Taiwan (Taipei) mid to late Friday July 12, 2013, any slight deviation from this track places China's Fujian and Zhejiang provinces in line for a landfall (between Fuzhou and Wenzhou, China) on Saturday July 13, 2013. Thus, the urgency to have an evacuation plan ready to be activated goes without question. Soulik is a marvel of nature, a true testament to the beauty and power of typhoons; but, preparation is the key to survival. Residents of Taipei, Taiwan should consider plans by Thursday July 11, 2013 to evacuate the city, shelter in adjacent neighboring cities in the southern part of the island, or temporarily fly out of the country. For those people living in Fujian or Zhejiang provinces, the same evacuation plans apply one day later, Friday July 12, 2013. God's Speed.
